First of all, why did we decide to name our cattery of “Domaine de l’Au”

We live in Saint Louis next to the Rhine River, and ‘Au’ is one arm of that River. ’Au’ is also the name of a charming village in Austria where I’ve spent all my winter holidays since the age of 3.

My cat passion dates back to childhood. I grew up surrounded by cats. There was always that attraction between us, to such an extent that as a baby, my mum had to close the door of my bedroom to prevent them from sleeping in my bed. Or when my sister used to give me the bottle, both cats were on the sofa to supervise the operation.

I simply can’t imagine my life without cats!

Up to now, I’ve always had home cats and I still have my dear Cookie and Zebulon who live at my parent’s.

When I was about 7-8 years old, I started dreaming about one Persian Chinchilla or one Silver Shaded.

When I could finally afford it, “So lovely Baby’s Diva Casta” arrived on September 5th, 2008 and she really means a lot to me.

She is the symbol of my retraining in the animals’ field and also the fulfilment of a dream.

You know, I started to study accountancy but then I changed my mind and realized my fate was to work with animals and have my own cats breeding. Therefore, I also started a one-year training to become a pet hairdresser.

In November 2008, I got my second female “Pearlstylecats Real Tiffany”.

On December 14th, 2008 we will get our male cat. His name is “Brettachtal’s Lion King Simba”. I hope we’ll soon get beautiful kitten…

My breeding is based on one thing: the health of my cats. This means they are free to move within the flat and also on the terrace (no caged cat).

All my cats are PKD DNA negativ tested and are also fully vaccinated and immunized against fever, head-cold, leucotomy and rabies.

Our veterinarian is Dr Girardier from Saint Louis.
